So now that i have a bit more time on my hands i can now go to a cafe with friends for morning or afternoon tea. It got me thinking about how different tea is served at some of the cafes that I've been to recently. So now I've decided i'm going to share my experiences with you in my search for the perfect cuppa.
Headed to a nearby cafe and ordered an English Breakfast while hubby ordered the half strength latte. ( I know the horror of it all him drinking coffee) . Beautiful day so we sat outside to enjoy the weather. Service was quick and friendly but on arrival the little silver teapot was sitting inside the cup as she brought it to the table. What was the teapot sitting on before it was placed inside my cup that i was drinking from. Anyway the lady placed hubby's coffee in front of him and then took teapot out of cup and spilt the tea just missing my legs as i jumped out of the way. So what do i get for $4.00, well it seems that a Lipton teabag in a silver pot that holds one and three quarter cups of water. lucky me. Hubby gets a barista made coffee using a $10,000 machine (just guessing) by a qualified barista who takes the time to measure coffee, froth the milk for $4.60. I wonder who got the better end of the deal.
So i'm happy to share my cafe experiences with you all in my search for the perfect cuppa and if i find it i'm happy to name names but i'm not here to name and shame when i do get the bad service and the bad cup of tea. If you want to join in feel free to email me your review and any pictures and help my find the perfect brew.
